HOUSTON Lone Star Regional Cheer Competition

All Houston area athletes are invited to participate in this special Showcase event.  You will compete against other athletes of the same basic age and skill level.  Each team will perform a CHEER and a CHEER DANCE ROUTINE.  Teams will be judged on personality (smiles), curriculum requirements, spirit, technique & overall showmanship!  There will be a practice run-thru with your coach prior to the Showcase in a second gym.  All participants will receive a large cheer trophy and will be competing for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and runner-up placements!

$30.00 Registration fee/athlete - ONLINE registration by or before the Wednesday prior to the event weekend

SPECTATOR FEE:  $4.00/person age 9 and older

REQUIRED:  Team uniforms per level/division and team poms 



JV TEAMS - Session #1

Registration:  8:30 - 9:10 a.m.

Team Group-Up (on Main Gym Floor)  9:20 a.m.

Practice/Coach:  9:30 - 9:55 a.m.

Showcase:  9:55 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.   



VARSITY TEAMS - Session #2

Registration:  11:20 - 11:50 a.m.

Team Group-Up (on Main Gym Floor)  12:00 p.m.

Practice/Coach:  12:10 - 12:35 p.m.

Showcase:  12:35 - 2:10 p.m.


JR. ALL STAR & PRO TEAMS - Session #3

Registration:  1:45 - 2:20 p.m.

Team Group-Up (on Main Gym Floor)  2:30 p.m.

Practice/Coach:  2:40 - 3:05 p.m.

Showcase:  3:05 - 5:15 p.m.




Formations, stunts, partnering & other elements are included within the performance so our Coaches would love to see all of their cheerleaders in attendance!


Team/student DISMISSAL for all divisions will take place AFTER all teams have performed and awards per category have been presented.  Parents are NOT permitted to pick-up their child early or after their performance.  Please plan to stay for the full time as indicated per session.  This is for the SAFETY of all our Cheer students!


Teams will be practicing in a second event gym during Showcase.  This is a CLOSED area from spectators and parents.  Teams will be working on reviewing and warming up stunts, formations and other areas of their routine pre-performance.  After teams have performed they will be waiting in this same area for Awards.  Parents are asked to stay in the stands during the full competition, and not attempt to go to the practice area.  (*Selected Parent Helpers will be assisting the coach during the practice time).


We request that all athletes arrive “performance” ready.  The school DOES NOT permit make-up being applied in the restrooms, outside in the parking lot, or anywhere else on school grounds by teams/parents.  This rule needs to be followed by all attendees.

PLEASE NOTE:  As part of our Cheer Program, ALL ACTIVSTARS Cheer Coaches are permitted to incorporate props, signs, team bows or other accessories into the Showcase performances at their discretion - this helps with creativity and uniqueness of individual team performances while at the event..  We allow our Coaching Staff to charge up to $10.00 per student (range from $1-$10) for these “special” Showcase items if used as part of the team performance.  Coaches are asked to coordinate directly with parents/students at their practice location regarding these details.   The ACTIVSTARS Office Staff does not have full details on each team’s specific accessories, but we are available to answer Showcase-related questions!

*Cheerleaders must wear tennis shoes to this event. 

*Poms will not be used during the Dance Clinic so please leave these at home.

*Please wear hair in a pony tail and dress in athletic cheer apparel.

*Parents are not permitted to stay inside during the Stunt Clinics -- only designated Parent Spotters will be permitted to stay during instruction time.


The Jr. All Star & Pro Team Stunting Clinic is designed for the safety and advancement of our Jr. All Star  & Pro teams and  students when it comes to stunting and stunt progression.  We are REQUIRING ALL of our Jr. All Star & Pro students to attend a Stunting Clinic to be certified and eligible to stunt for this semester.

Cheer Team Uniforms

The ACTIVSTARS Cheer Program Uniforms are stylish and current yet they are also durable, comfortable and long-lasting.  Every cheerleader wants to feel like an athlete when they take the floor to perform, having a great uniform on completes the look and feel of a cheerleader!  Let your SPIRIT shine!

With our NEW team uniform design and look we know that you want your athlete to have her/his "perfect" fit.

We have put together a sizing char to assist you with sizing your student.  Please review the attached PDF.



It is VERY important to always wash your team uniform correctly to keep it looking top notch for performance day.  

Washing Instructions:  Cheer uniforms need to be washed in COLD water with NO bleach to maintain the quality of the logo/design and fabric color. 

We also recommend for uniforms to be washed inside out and air dried on a hanger - not placed in the dryer.
